Day Three

Previous Next

Day three continued to set new standards for the students, but also gave them an opportunity to see the standards that our faculty live by in their personal artistic careers. After breakfast, students had the opportunity to watch Personal Geography, GSA’s annual faculty showcase, where we saw work by faculty from our dance and drama disciplines, as well as a unique collaboration between creative writing and architecture faculty members.

After a day full of studio, workshops, and seminars, students had the opportunity to see and experience more work by our talented faculty. They started in the Morlan Gallery, Transylvania University’s campus art gallery, where faculty displayed drawings, paintings, photography, sculptures, and architecture designs. Afterward, we continued with a Personal Geography evening performance, featuring faculty from our vocal music, new media, and musical theatre disciplines.

When the day finally came to a close, students experienced  a community building workshop in their RA groups in the dorm. This gave them a very focused opportunity to get to know each other on a more personal level through an open-ended questions exercise guided by their RA’s.

During lunch, we asked students, “If you could choose a different discipline here at GSA, what would it be?” Once you’ve checked out the video, check out the incredible photographs by our documentarian, Kevin Flores, and if you like them, you can purchase any of them here!
