YOU MUST COMPLETE ALL THREE OF THE FOLLOWING STEPS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE GOVERNOR’S SCHOOL FOR THE ARTS:

1. Visit the “Recommendation Process” page on our website for instructions on the process and to obtain downloadable recommendation forms.  Recommendation forms are to be postmarked on or before February 15, 2013. Click here to visit this page.

2. Visit the “Auditions/Reviews” page on our website for important policies and logistical information regarding your audition. A link to driving directions to the audition sites is also included on this page.  Click here to visit this page.

3. Review BOTH the “Audition/Review Guidelines & Procedures” AND the “Audition/Review Tips” for your specific discipline(s) in the “Artforms” section of our website.  Click here to visit the “Artforms” section.

If you or your family has any accessibility needs regarding the auditions or the audition sites, please contact GSA to make arrangements at 502-562-0192.

The result of your audition or review will be mailed from our office on April 12, 2013.  Best of luck on your 2013 GSA Audition/Review!

She is a GSA alumna in Dance and is currently a choreographer and dancer with Moving Collective and Vandivier-Ford Dance Company. She previously spent over a year with GSA as an intern and has experience in customer service at The Kentucky Center. In her spare time, Erin bakes cupcakes and plays with her dog, Jango.

1) Click here to check the list of shows currently running on Channel 34.

2) If you see a show that you like, come up with a catchy phrase in this style:
a.“I’m Kevin, I’m from Louisville, and my favorite show on WBKI is Rules of Engagement ‘cause I love the   bro code!”
b. “I’m Mary Ann, I ‘m from Okolona, and my favorite show on WBKI is Seinfeld.  It’s all about Kramer! Whoa…”
c. Make sure the phrase is appropriate. Think GSA worthy.
d. Clip cannot exceed 8 seconds.
e. Preferred format: HD but they can work with a number of formats.

3) Then you can either:
a. Film yourself with a flip camera, iPhone, video camera, etc.  and send the clip to the WBKI Production Manager, John White, at jwhite@wbki.tv .Or,
b. Send Carrie an email at cnath@kentuckycenter.org and she will coordinate a date for a group to go into the studio. Please note: shooting this yourself and emailing in the shot will be the most efficient way to get your face on the screen in a jiffy.
If you have any questions about filming the clip yourself, you can call John White at 502-640-8871.

Please wear your GSA t-shirt if you have it. You can even make one with a group of friends and introduce yourselves as GSA alums instead of individual names. Keep in mind, these need to be short clips focused on one show. It is best if you actually like and watch the show.
Please be sure to copy Carrie on all emails at cnath@kentuckycenter.org to let her know when you’ve completed your project. Carrie can get a list of airing times so we can all enjoy the show!

Due to the generosity of dedicated GSA supporters Gill and Augusta Holland, as well as additional support from the Kentucky Tourism, Arts & Heritage Cabinet, Office of the Secretary, GSA will retain the New Media program for the Summer of 2013, along with the other existing disciplines: Architecture, Creative Writing, Dance, Drama, Instrumental Music, Musical Theatre, Visual Art and Vocal Music.

New Media workshops will be available for registration at all ArtShop locations. ArtShop registration and the summer program application will be available next week. Please look under the “Students-Parents-Teachers” and “New Media” sections of our website for ArtShop and Audition information. This is truly a celebration of the GSA Spirit!
