If you build it, they will come... to architecture immersion day that is. The day began with a lecture from Melody-Farris Jackson who has been a guest artist at GSA for the past two years. She presented a slideshow of her work during morning announcements. It was a new twist on the "typical slideshow presentation" because she included a short poem with each slide that represented how she felt about that particular piece of art. Ms. Jackson's presentation gave the students great insight into the idea that architecture really and truly is a precious art form. It is something that must be taught artistically to preserve the imagination, creativity, discipline, and precision that goes into every step of the detailed process.

Students participated in an enlightening architecture smorgasbord that involved a public art installation. The installation art piece students completed involved changing the way people who travel through a space view the space by connecting trees with twine.

Monday was a long day of studios, which means practice, practice, and more practice. And when they're done with that, they can practice some more. But excitement is mounting as the final day performance draws nearer. Time spent in studio will pay off when they showcase the new polish they have gained to their already present talent.
