With the countdown looming in front of them, students entered their final day of classes much like a soldier enters battle; head hung, bodies tired, longing for time to stand still, to be slowed so that F DAY (Final Day) will come more gently to them. Alas, final day of class it is, and work awaits…

Students began their day with yet another pacing entry back into the real world, as guest Glen Kwok and Jeff Jamner discussed a day in the life of (startled oh!)… artist with second careers.

Architecture and Dance collaborate to bring visions of buildings and forms to the stage.

Students then swam through yet another day of rain (it's as if the weather feels our mourning) to return to classes and offer thanks to those who have made this experience possible for them. “Thank you Thursday” began in the morning classroom session and refers to letter writing to legislators, board members, donors, advisory council representatives, and general GSA supports thanking them, on a personal basis, for whatever the program has given the particular student writing, and encouraging these GSA friends to continue making this opportunity possible.

Students and faculty wander through Morlan Gallery admiring the work of the Visual Artists, who were eager (and perhaps a bit nervous) to receive feedback.

Following this session, several disciplines kicked off their final classes with a bang, as creative writing took a field trip to Special Media, and vocal music enjoyed the instruction of renowned vocal performer David Arnold. Finally, in the evening students strutted their stuff in front of the entire school in celebration of time spent and art learned here at GSA. The student body enjoined their friends' performances of Musical Theatre chorus numbers, a Dance/Architecture collaboration, and a Creative Writing collage of work, to name only a few. Each performance was met with excited screams and ovations that always ended in standing. After the shows, the school toured the Visual Art gallery and Architecture studios to gaze upon their beautiful creations. Students then reluctantly crawled to bed, and dreamed dreamy thoughts of morning staff performances in their head.

The men of Vocal Music remind the audience that choral music isn't always stagnant during their rousing rendition of "The Auctioneer."

Creative Writing reminds GSA of where they're from through the words of every single artist in the discipline.
Instrumental Music students pay homage to the low brass players hidden in the tech room during a humorous number by PDQ Bach.

Musical Theatre mget all shook up as they perform "Jailhouse Rock."

No, this was not a wardrobe malfunction...the Drama department, however, DID get creative with its costuming.

Guest Artists Glen Kwok and Jeff Jamner assure GSA students that employment and art can actually co-exist.
