This morning Program Assisstant and Registrar Elise Davis gave a presentation on Alumni and Career Opportunities, which includes the Toyota Alumni Fund, for College and Career Planning Day. The Toyota Alumni Fund is a fund available to GSA graduates for their artistic and community outreach projects. Toyota Alumni Fund recipient Dan Bernitt, Creative Writing DA, explained the steps he took to apply for and use these funds. Dan had written a one-man-show and was able to travel to performance festivals with the help of GSA. During this last week of GSA, the program has begun to focus on what students can do after their GSA experience.

Today’s Smorgs were:

Arts Administration—taught by Program Director Heather Weston Bell and Interns Josh Hall and Nicole Sikora

How to Find the Right College—taught by Laura Angermeier

Art Therapy—taught by CRS Beth Henson and Counselor Tara Niendam

Elise Davis's presentation featured hysterical pictures of Instrumental Music DA Sam Trevathan.

In the evening Bridgman Packer Dance put on a spectacular dance performance before the students went outside for an all-school Architecture Smorg…with glowsticks! Once it was dark, the students used the glowsticks to create a grid, to make waves, and to express the conditions of the site below (aka setting the glowsticks on the ground). Although it was difficult to coordinate 241 students with glowsticks in the dark, it was definitely a beautiful and fun Smorg!

Until tomorrow, this is GSA ’08 intern Laura Lamping Greenwell signing off.
