This morning’s Vocal performance focused on German Lieder and Arias to start off Vocal Immersion Day. Natalie Krupansky, mezzo-soprano; Brittany Benningfield, soprano and Vocal Music DA; Keith Dean, baritone; and Karmesha Peake, mezzo-soprano performed songs by Bernstein, Brahms, Wagner, Wolf, Saint-Saens, Schumann, and Hairston.

Today’s Smorgs were:

Opera 101—taught by Sonya Baker

GSA Idol—taught by Olivia Duval

Easy Listening with Barry—taught by Barry Lawrence

So You’ve Got an Audition—taught by A.T. Simpson

Diana Dinicola taught a Flamenco Masterclass for the Dance students and Miles Osland taught a Jazz Improvisation Workshop for the Instrumental Musicians.

The Architecture Students took a field trip to Louisville to visit architecture firms, Main Street, and 21C (the downtown hotel and contemporary art museum).

The Drama Students also took a trip to Louisville, but they went on a tour of Actors Theatre and met with the Associate Director, visited the Speed Art Museum, went on a behind-the scenes tour of the Kentucky Center, and went to the Kentucky Shakespeare Festival performance of Pericles.

Hope Koehler performed German Leider, English Folk Songs, and Spirituals for the evening performance.
